Who Are You?
Every character in Macbeth—even the smaller roles—helps to tell the story. To "get inside the skin" of one of those minor characters, choose one who is of interest to you and create what actors do—a "backstory," which is an imaginative journey into characters' pasts to help flesh them out and understand more about where they're coming from. Where did they grow up? What kind of family did they belong to? What did they think of the Macbeths before the play's story begins? And what about during the play? Write out your ideas, and then set up an interview—in character, of course!
