SHANESIA DAVIS returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where her credits include Queen in Cymbeline. Chicago credits include: Mrs. Wilkinson in Billy Elliot the Musical (Porchlight Music Theatre); Queen Margaret in Richard III (The Gift Theatre); Amanda in The Glass Menagerie, Inez in Our Lady of 121st St. (Steppenwolf Theatre); Mayetta in Brothers of the Dust  (Best Actress, Black Theater Alliance Award, Black Excellence Award), Evie in What I Learned in Paris (Congo Square Theatre); Evy in Immediate Family, Hannah in Drowning Crow, Amy Jacques in Black Star Line (Goodman Theatre); Hannah in Native Son, and Othello (Court Theatre), among others. Regional credits include: Violet in Jazz (Baltimore Center Stage); Evy in Immediate Family (Mark Taper Forum); Nella in Gee’s Bend (Cleveland Playhouse); Salamina in The Syringa Tree, Ruth in A Raisin in the Sun (Kansas City Repertory Theatre); Ester in Intimate Apparel (Baltimore Center Stage, South Coast Repertory); and Ophelia in Hamlet (San Diego Repertory Theatre). Film credits include: Blueprint, External Rivals, Consumed,Morning Due,The Weatherman, Life Sentence, and Chicago Cab with Honors. Television credits include: The Chi; Cleveland Abduction; Empire; Chicago Fire, Making a Case for Murder: The Howard Beach Story; CRISIS; Detroit 187, Missing Person, and Early Edition. Ms. Davis is an artistic associate of Congo Square Theatre and teaching artist at The School of Theatre & Music, UIC.
