Mellon Foundation and administered by Theatre Communications Group; 2010 Princess Grace Award; Julian Milton Kaufman Memorial Prize from Yale School of Drama; Drama League Directing Fellowship. Cooper is an assistant professor for Northwestern University’s Directing MFA program, a company member at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington D.C., has served as associate artistic director of California Shakespeare Theater (2000–2004) and co-founder of New Theater House (2008–present).
