John Culbert returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where he previously designed Romeo and Juliet. Other Chicago credits include: Tartuffe, The Misanthrope, Angels in America, Caroline, or Change, Man of La Mancha (Jeff Award), Carousel (Court Theatre); The Farnsworth Invention (Scenic Design, TimeLine Theatre Company); Grey Gardens (Northlight Theatre); Regina (Lyric Opera of Chicago); Argonautika (Lookingglass Theatre Company); Rock ‘n’ Roll and Mirror of the Invisible World (Goodman Theatre), among others. Regional credits include productions with: Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Long Wharf Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, McCarter Theatre and Shakespeare Theatre Company. International credits include productions with Singapore Repertory and Opera National du Rhin. Other projects include lighting design for the Chicago Park District’s Buckingham Fountain. Mr. Culbert serves as Dean of The Theatre School at DePaul University.
