Zahy Tentehar is an indigenous artivist from the Tentehar Guajajara people, from the Colônia Village, located in the Cana Brava indigenous reserve in Maranhão. Daughter of the shaman Azira and mother of Kwarahy, she is an actress and has had experiences as a photographer, singer and performer. At the age of nine, she began to divide her life between the village of Colônia and the municipality of Barra do Corda due to her studies. At 19, she moved to the city of Rio de Janeiro, where she lived in Aldeia Maracanã and began her artistic career. She played the role of Domingas in the miniseries “Dois Irmãos”, shown on Rede Globo, directed by Luiz Fernando Carvalho. She created, scripted and acted in the video performance “Aiku’è” (R-existo), in partnership with Mariana Villas-Boas, which was selected for the Kannibal Fest in Berlin and the Rio Short Film Festival.
