On Wednesday, June 10 after the 1 p.m. performance of Brokeback Mountain, Chicago Shakespeare theater will host a post-show discussion on LGBTQIA+ experiences of health and history as part of the national Seven Days in June campaign to ensure “Health is Primary.”
Marking the 45th anniversary of the first known case of what became HIV/AIDS, the panel will be moderated by journalist and community leader Tracy Baim, co-founder of Windy City Times and executive director of Press Forward Chicago. Panelists will be HIV/AIDS advocate Jeff Berry, executive director and co-founder of The Reunion Project; Keith R. Green, executive director of the Chicago Black Gay Men’s Caucus; and Kim L. Hunt, executive director of Pride Action Tank, a project of AIDS Foundation Chicago, where she also serves as the vice president of special projects and innovation.

Panel Bios
Tracy Baim
Tracy Baim is executive director of Press Forward Chicago, a pooled fund for community journalism based at The Chicago Community Trust. Baim is co-founder and owner of Windy City Times. She is former publisher of the Chicago Reader. Baim has received Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Chicago Headline Club and the Chicago Journalists Association. In 2014, she was inducted into the NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists Hall of Fame. She is also in the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame. Baim has won numerous LGBTQ community and journalism honors, including the Community Media Workshop’s Studs Terkel Award in 2005, the Lambda Legal Bon Foster Award in 2023, and the Center on Halsted Community Spirit Award in 2026. Baim has written and/or edited 14 books, her newest is Liberating Healthcare, a biography of Howard Brown Health.
Jeff Berry
Jeff Berry is executive director and co-founder of The Reunion Project, the alliance of long-term survivors of HIV. An advocate, writer, and speaker for over 30 years, he amplifies the voices of people living with HIV through leadership, media, and international advisory roles. Jeff’s work has appeared in The Advocate, TheBody.com, and an Emmy-nominated docuseries. He lives in Chicago with his husband and their two furry companions.
Keith R. Green
Keith R. Green, PhD, MSW is a native Chicagoan with deep community roots and a distinguished career as an organizer, educator, scholar, and advocate. He serves as executive director of the Chicago Black Gay Men’s Caucus, a grassroots community-based organization dedicated to advancing health equity by developing community-centered leadership and innovative programs for Black gay, bisexual, and same-gender-loving men. Green earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his PhD in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. He is former associate editor of Positively Aware magazine and director of federal affairs at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. He received the Bayard Rustin Advocacy Award at the 2026 Truth Awards. Green was indicted into the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame in 2012.
Kim L. Hunt
Kim L. Hunt (she/her) has been passionate about curating brave, inclusive spaces for social change for over 25 years. She is the executive director of Pride Action Tank (PAT), a project of AIDS Foundation Chicago, where she also serves as the vice president of special projects and innovation in the Policy & Advocacy department. Hunt drives the innovation, collaboration and learning necessary to make PAT a leader in improving the health, safety and progress of individuals and groups within LGBTQ+ communities. She has served on state and local civic councils and community boards, has been a live commentator for the Pride Parade for ABC Chicago since 2022 and is a founding co-host of OUTSpoken: LGBTQ Storytelling.
