Here at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, we are just as excited for The Lord of the Rings as our patrons. While we know that coming to the show in costume can deepen your experience, we are also mindful of the comfort and security of all audience members. We look forward to seeing you in Middle-earth!
Prohibited Items: Please refrain from bringing any real or replica weapons. This includes firearms, knives, swords, and any other item designed or altered to resemble a weapon. Avoid large or heavy props that could obstruct pathways, sightlines, or pose a risk to others. Items that can be thrown or make noise are not allowed.
Comfort and Safety: Costumes should not take up more than your seat space, ensuring that other audience members have enough room. Avoid major headpieces or accessories that could block the view of others.
Masks and Face Coverings: Except for medical masks or masks worn as part of religious observance, full face coverings are discouraged for security reasons.
Bag Restrictions: Large bags or containers that do not fit at your feet in your seat shall be checked at coat check.
Finally, although Hobbits don’t wear shoes, we ask that all our patrons do!
