The Play
2013 marks the eighth annual production of CPS Shakespeare! with twenty-one students, nine teachers, and eleven CPS high schools participating in this year’s ensemble. After well over one hundred hours of rehearsal with New York guest director Kirsten Kelly and Chicago-acclaimed fight director Matt Hawkins, alongside members of CST’s Education team, and with assistant director and CPS English teacher Sandra Shimon, our CPS Shakespeare! Othello ensemble will stage its unique and personal vision of Shakespeare’s story, including bilingual passages translated by members of the ensemble. Each performance is immediately followed by talkbacks with the cast.
