Diane D'Aquila makes her Chicago Shakespeare Theater debut. Her fifteen seasons at Stratford Shakespeare Festival include: Ftatateeta in Caesar and Cleopatra with Christopher Plummer, Constance in King John, Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra, Jocasta in Oedipus Rex, Margaret in Richard III and Goneril in King Lear. Ms. D’Aquila’s US credits include: Rosemary in Picnic directed by Anne Bogart (Actors Theatre of Louisville); Dido in Dido, Queen of Carthage directed by Neil Bartlett (American Repertory Theater); Stepdaughter in Six Characters in Search of an Author directed by Robert Brustein (Goodman Theatre); and Kate in David Chambers’s The Taming of the Shrew (Walnut Street Theater). Film and television credits include: Caesar and Cleopatra, Take This Waltz, Married to It and the Minister of Culture in Slings and Arrows. Ms. D’Aquila received the ACTRA and Gemini Award in 2004 for her performance as Elizabeth I in the television adaptation of Timothy Findley’s Elizabeth Rex, a role which she originated in the premiere production at Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
