Bernard Balbot (Porter) makes his Chicago Shakespeare Theater debut. Other Chicago credits include: She Loves Me (Writers' Theatre); Yeast Nation, It's a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play (American Theater Company); and A Christmas Carol (Drury Lane Theatre Oakbrook). Regional credits include: Cyrano de Bergerac, Othello, The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Utah Shakespeare Festival); Hair, Romeo and Juliet and Androcles and the Lion (Hangar Theatre). Bernard is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and furthered his acting training at the Moscow Art Theatre abroad program. Bernard started acting when he was seven years old. What he most enjoys about performing Shakespeare is "being extremely articulate as well as eloquent" as a character who lives inside Shakespeare's language.
