The Play

The perfect choice for families or any time-challenged theater fans! The most tragic, beautiful love story in Shakespeare's canon comes alive in this 75-minute abridged production. Verona burns under summer's heat—and the hatred of two families. The Prince decrees: if Montague or Capulet again disrupts the peace, death is the punishment. Against this violent world, Shakespeare sets Romeo and Juliet, a tale of true love found—and tragically lost. The production combines Shakespeare's original verse with dynamic staging to connect young audiences with the chatacters' journeys. Following the performance, the cast remains on stage for a question-and-answer session, then joins the audience in the lobby for conversation and photos. This production will most be enjoyed by those ages 10 and up.
