JQ returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where his credits include: A Q Brothers’ Christmas Carol, Othello: The Remix (Chicago, London, Germany, Edinburgh, South Korea, Sydney, Poland, Melbourne, UAE, Auckland, National Alliance for Musical Theatre’s Festival of New Musicals 2015), and Funk It Up About Nothin’ (Chicago, Edinburgh, New York, Australian tour, London). Along with his brother GQ, he co-created, co-directed, composed—and will star in—the original production of a two-man version of The Two Gentleman of Verona (Oregon Shakespeare Festival commission). Born and raised in Chicago, he made his off Broadway debut as DJ/ Composer for The Bomb-itty of Errors. Along with the Bomb-itty guys, J wrote and starred in the hip-hop/sketch comedy TV show, Scratch and Burn (MTV). For his co-creator/brother GQ’s film, Just Another Story (Showtime), he created the score and original soundtrack. He is currently the co-host (with oldest brother TQ) of Smallflower TV, a video blog about natural health and old school shaving. His awards include: two-time Jeff Award—Best Ensemble for Funk It Up About Nothin’ and Othello: The Remix; and from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Dress Circle Award for Best Musical for Funk It Up About Nothin’ and the Best Musical and Best Lyrics awards from the MTM Awards for Othello: The Remix. @foulmouthpoet
