CST Insider - January 2014

Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s staff and artists recently gathered to honor CST Sound Engineer Cristy Troia with the 12th annual Hurckes Award. Created through the generosity and inspired vision of longtime supporters Dick and Lou Hurckes, the Hurckes Award each year recognizes the creative and technical achievement of a member of CST’s production department. Paying tribute to the exceptional spirit, talent and dedication of the recipient, this special honor also provides resources for their professional enhancement. This year’s award will underwrite Troia’s attendance at the US Institute for Theater Technology annual conference. With more than 100 skilled artisans and technicians working behind the scenes to bring CST’s epic productions to life, the Theater is proud to join the Hurckes family in celebration of this group’s invaluable contributions.
