Original Music

Henry Marsh returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where he composed the music for The Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing and The Comedy of Errors (Jeff Award, Original Music). He has been writing music extensively for television in the UK since 1980. His work on the two award-winning series, Pirates and Eye of the Storm, as well as on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and The Simpsons promo, has been used throughout Europe. His collaborations with David Bell include compositions for: The Grapes of Wrath, The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, Romeo and Juliet, One Last Summer (Alliance Theatre, Atlanta), and In Stitches (Center Stage Theatre). Other Chicago credits include Female Problems (After Dark Award, Pegasus Theatre). Mr. Marsh is a founding member and writer with the UK band Sailor, now in its fourth decade, which has received numerous Gold Albums worldwide, and chart and concert success throughout Europe. In 2010 he was credited with co-composition on the opening track “Cold Wind Blows” on Eminem’s album Recovery.
