CST 2011 Gala guests Creative Producer Rick Boynton, Tony and Grammy Award-winning artist Heather Headley, Artistic Director Barbara Gaines, Artistic Associate Gary Griffin and inaugural Spirit of Shakespeare artistic honoree Sir Derek Jacobi.

Stars of the stage and Chicago community will align at Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier for Gala 2012. All proceeds will benefit the Theater's education and civic engagement program serving over 40,000 students and educators annually. Highlights include the presentation of the second annual "Spirit of Shakespeare Awards," honoring those who keep his spirit alive through community service and artistic leadership.

Acclaimed British actor-director Brian Bedford is the 2012 Spirit of Shakespeare Award Artistic honoree. Mr. Bedford has been an important collaborator in the Theater's growth into an internationally-recognized center for creative exchange. In 2000, he brought the first work of what would become the World's Stage Series: The School for Scandal. Mr. Bedford, a Tony Award winner and American Theatre Hall of Fame inductee, was last here for 2004's The Molière Comedies.

Northern Trust Chairman and CEO Frederick H. Waddell is the 2012 Spirit of Shakespeare Award Civic honoree. As early supporters of Team Shakespeare, Nothern Trust's support helped position CST as an important Chicago Public School partner. As leaders of the global philanthropic community, Northern Trust and Mr. Waddell have made significant investments in the communities they serve worldwide.
