Choreographing Follies

Alex Sanchez first encountered Chicago Shakespeare Theater when he was a scholarship student at the Ruth Page Foundation. After an impressive career dancing on Broadway and teaching and choreographing all around the country, Alex is back in Chicago choreographing Follies. He sat down with us to share the vision behind Follies’ dances, which range from vaudeville camp to burlesque to—that’s right—follies production numbers.
