James Newcomb (Apemantus/Fight Director) returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where his credits include The Madness of George III and Macbeth. Oregon Shakespeare Festival credits throughout thirteen seasons include: Hero in The Rehearsal; Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde in Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; Richard III in Richard III; Richard in Henry VI, Parts 2 and 3; Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing; Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream; and Bolingbroke in Richard II. Other regional theater credits include: Denver Center Theatre, The Old Globe, Shakespeare & Company (founding member), Utah Shakespearean Festival, Arizona Theatre Company, South Coast Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Geva Theatre and New York Shakespeare Festival. He has received the Dramalogue Award for As You Like It (Shakespeare Santa Cruz). As fight director for numerous regional theaters throughout the country, his credits include: Moby Dick (San Diego Opera); and resident fight director at Oregon Shakespeare Festival. He received the Award for Artistic Excellence from the Oxford Society (2006 Shakespeare Authorship Studies Conference, Concordia University). Mr. Newcomb is an adjunct professor at the University of California San Diego.
