Jeffrey Carlson (Edward II) returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater where he appeared as Prince Henry of Wales (Hal) in Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 (at CST and Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford-Upon-Avon). Broadway credits include: Taboo (Drama Desk Nomination), Tartuffe (Roundabout Theatre Company), The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? Pre-Broadway credits include The Miracle Worker. Off Broadway credits include: Bach at Leipzig (New York Theatre Workshop); Manuscript (Daryl Roth Theater); Last Easter (Manhattan Class Company); Thief River (Signature Theatre); and Anthony and Cleopatra (Theatre for a New Audience). Regional credits include: Lorenzaccio and the title role in Hamlet (Shakespeare Theatre, Washington, D.C.); Candida, the title role in Romeo and Juliet (McCarter Theatre); and the title role in Richard II (Yale Repertory Theatre). Film credits include: The Killing Floor, Hitch and Backseat. Television credits include: Law & Order: SVU, Plainsong (CBS, Hallmark Hall of Fame); featured in the American Masters PBS documentary on The Juilliard School; and Zoë on ABC’s All My Children. He has trained at The Juilliard School, University of California at Davis and the Guthrie Theater. He is also the recipient of the 2004 Marian Seldes–Garson Kanin Fellowship.
