John Lister (Bishop of Canterbury) returns to Chicago Shakespeare for his twelfth production, where his credits include: Cleomones in The Winter’s Tale, Prospero in Witches, Wizards, Spells and Elves with The Chicago Chamber Musicians, Master of the Ship in The Tempest, Surrey in Richard II, Lord Capulet in Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet, Bishop Parry in The Herbal Bed, and roles in Antony and Cleopatra and Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2. Other Chicago credits include The Crucible (Steppenwolf Theatre Company); She Stoops to Conquer, Inherit the Wind, Red Herring, Lady Windermere’s Fan (Northlight Theatre); As You Like It (Writers’ Theatre); and A Christmas Carol (Goodman Theatre). Regional credits include: Deathtrap, The Foreigner, Shady Business (Peninsula Players); Romeo and Juliet, Henry V, The Comedy of Errors (Notre Dame Summer Shakespeare); and the U.S. premiere of Agatha Christie’s Chimneys (International Mystery Writers’ Festival). Film and television credits include: Judge Murray in the Michael Mann film Public Enemies, Prison Break (FOX) and The Beast (A&E).
