Tanya Saracho (Nurse) makes her Chicago Shakespeare Theater debut. Born in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, México, her Chicago acting credits include: Another Part of the House (Teatro Vista); Electricidad directed by Henry Godinez (Goodman Theatre); Living Out (American Theater Company/Teatro Vista) and numerous appearances with Teatro Luna. Regional credits include Fat Pig (Rennaissance Theatreworks, Milwaukee). She is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists and the co-founder and co-artistic director of Teatro Luna: Chicago’s All-Latina Theatre. She has written for most of Teatro Luna’s ensemble-built shows. She is the author of the upcoming productions of Our Lady of the Underpass (Teatro Vista, spring 2009), Kita y Fernanda (16th Street Theatre, September 2008), Sandra Cisneros’ The House on Mango Street (Steppenwolf Young Adult series) and the world premiere of Jarred: A Hoodoo Comedy (Teatro Luna, Halloween 2008) after a staged reading at the Goodman Latino Theatre Festival. |
