Sean Fortunato (Bottom) returns to Chicago Shakespeare, where his credits include the title role in Willy Wonka, The Comedy of Errors, Othello, Much Ado About Nothing, Measure for Measure, and Rose Rage (at CST and The Duke on 42nd Street). Other credits include: Bowery Boys, Brigadoon (Jeff Nomination, The Marriott Theatre); Franz in The Producers, Max in Lend Me a Tenor (Theatre at the Center); Father Flynn in Doubt, Emcee in Cabaret (Peninsula Players); The Chosen, Rough Crossing (Jeff Nomination), A Phoenix Too Frequent (After Dark Award), Spite for Spite (Writers’ Theatre); as well as work at The Old Globe, Goodman Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, About Face Theatre and the film The Merry Gentleman directed by Michael Keaton. Sean will be seen next as Lieutenant Cioffi in Curtains at Drury Lane-Oakbrook. He enjoys the challenge of “making Shakespeare’s verse sound conversational without losing its poetry.”
