The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre
The Roald Dahl Museum, on the site of Dahl’s home in Buckinghamshire, England, was established to tell Dahl’s story, care for his archives and promote a love of creative writing. Their website offers glimpses into the archives and an interactive exploration of his amazing “writing hut” where he went every day to write.
The Official Roald Dahl Site
At writer Roald Dahl’s official website, you can explore his life through interviews, pictures and interactive activities, and learn more about his many books.
Chocolate, the exhibition
Chicago’s Field Museum developed an exhibit that explored the story of chocolate, from rainforest treasure to delicious treat. This extensive website has everything from the cultural history of chocolate to the growing of cacao and manufacture of chocolate, and includes a section just for children.
The Hershey’s Chocolate Factory
Milton S. Hershey became fascinated with the art of chocolate-making at Chicago’s 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. Through trial and error, he developed the recipe for a chocolate bar that could be mass-produced, bringing what had been a delicacy for the rich to the masses. You can see a video of the step-by-step process used to make chocolate bars at the Hershey factory.
