In Roald Dahl's book, he says that poor Charlie Bucket has to walk by Willy Wonka's factory every day even though he can't often afford to buy any candy himself, which makes his walk to school very difficult indeed. It's almost torture for poor Charlie because he loves chocolate so very much!
