James Newcomb (Dr. Willis) returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where he appeared in Macbeth. Oregon Shakespeare Festival credits throughout thirteen seasons include: Hero in The Rehearsal; Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; Richard III in Richard III; Richard in Henry VI, Parts II and III; Dogberry in Much Ado about Nothing; Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream; and Bolingbroke in Richard II. Other regional theater credits include: seven seasons at Denver Center Theatre, The Old Globe, Shakespeare & Company (founding member), Utah Shakespeare Festival, Arizona Theatre Company, South Coast Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Geva Theatre and The New York Shakespeare Festival. He has received the Drama-Logue Award for As You Like It (Shakespeare Santa Cruz), and as a member of the Oxford Society he received the Award for Artistic Excellence (2006 Shakespeare Authorship Studies Conference, Concordia University). Mr. Newcomb is an adjunct professor in the University of California San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance.
