After seeing the play at Chicago Shakespeare, choose your very favorite line from the entire play—that’s the character you might like to “adopt” by creating your own life-size look for him (or her!). [To the parent: Taking a large sheet of paper (brown package paper is always an option), trace the outline on the paper of your child’s body as he or she lies down on the floor.] Cut out the outline of you—and you have a life-sized character from Ephesus! Cutting out a large “caption bubble,” now write your favorite line—making your bubble as decorative and fun as your imagination takes you! Decide how you’d like to dress your character—in what colors? In what hat? Long pants or short ones? You might simply color on the cut-out, or get even more creative with wrapping paper, wallpaper samples, even scraps of old fabric! |
