Get ready to tune your ear to the verbal acrobatics played by practically everybody in The Comedy of Errors! With as many family members as you can gather (though this activity can be played in pairs, as well), stand in a circle or across from one another with a soft ball. The person who starts the round thinks of a word and, as he or she says the word aloud, looks directly at the person to whom they’re passing the ball. As the next person receives the “pass,” they’ll say a word aloud that rhymes with the first as they, too, make direct eye contact with the person to whom they’re passing the ball next. Keep passing the ball around the circle until you run out of rhymes, and then start with a new word! Soon your rhyming wit will be as quick as the characters in Comedy! |
