Gregory Hirte (Musician) makes his CST debut. He was classically trained on the violin from age four and has performed and composed for many theaters around Chicago and New York including: Court Theatre, Lookingglass, Goodman Theatre (where he has been the fiddler in A Christmas Carol for 11 seasons), and Piven Theatre, where he was Jeff nominated for original score in Sarah Ruhl’s Melancholy Play. Gregory also plays in several local bands including Mojo and the Bayou Gypsies, Soundfrome, CanKyRee, and is the violinist for Mucca Pazza. Gregory attended Glenbrook South in Glenview. Before beginning a career as a musician, he thought he would be an actor. His first contact with Shakespeare was in seventh grade when he saw Macbeth set in a “post-modern future. There was a raw yet elegant excitement about it that was thrilling.”
