Kirsten Fitzgerald (Nurse) makes her CST debut. She is an ensemble member of A Red Orchid Theatre, where she recently appeared in Weapon of Mass Impact and The Sea Horse (2006 Jeff Award). Other Chicago credits include Iron (Apple Tree), The Elephant Man (Steppenwolf Theatre Company), A Moon for the Misbegotten (After Dark Award, Circle Theatre), and performances with the Goodman, Next, Shattered Globe, Remy Bumppo, Plasticene, and Defiant theaters. Kirsten has worked with Utah Shakespearean Festival and appeared on the TV series ER. She teaches at Columbia College and manages the Thresholds Theatre Arts Project, a project dedicated to showcasing the artistic voices of individuals with mental illness. She was first exposed to Shakespeare in high school English, “I used to think that Shakespeare was more a poet than a playwright. Now I think he is both.”
