James Rank (Lieutenant Torasso) returns to Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where he previously appeared in A Little Night Music. He has been active in musical theater, opera and concert venues throughout the region. Chicago credits include: Grand Hotel (Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place); Carousel, The Phantom of the Opera (Candlelight Dinner Theater); It’s a Bird... It’s a Plane...It’s Superman, South Pacific (Drury Lane Oakbrook Theatre); The Boys Are Coming Home (American Music Theater Project); She Loves Me, The Fantasticks (Light Opera Works); Passion, A Little Night Music (Ravinia Festival); The Face on the Barroom Floor (Chicago Opera Theatre); La Bohème (L’Opera Piccola); Boris Godunov and Götterdämmerung (Lyric Opera of Chicago). Regional credits include: The Beggar’s Opera (Santa Fe Opera); The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado (Central City Opera); Carmen and La Traviata (Pamiro Opera). He has sung concerts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The Chicago Sinfonietta, and with various ensembles from Northwestern University, where he earned his master’s degree in 2001.
