Angela Ingersoll, Paula Scrofano and Nancy Voigts sing “Hold Tight”
|
The cast and crew have assembled to film the movie of The Comedy of Errors, and the movie needs a soundtrack. Occasionally, the action of the play moves to sound studios to witness the recording of period songs. Sound Designer Lindsay Jones worked with Pete Jacobs’ Wartime Radio Revue Swing Orchestra in Los Angeles to record the big band tracks, while the performers sing the vocals live on stage. “Hold Tight” was a #2 hit for The Andrews Sisters in 1938 and “Taking a Chance on Love” was a #1 hit for Benny Goodman, featuring Helen Forrest, in 1943.
